Thank goodness for little girls!

***Miss Lindsay if you are reading this, look away if you want to be surprised***

This week at the Pink Elephant the challenge was "all about pink". Well I immediately think of fresh new baby girls and since my brother and his wife are expecting a baby girl in May, (yes I am totally outing her in blogville!) I had to make a card for when their new baby arrives.

Do you find that when you are making a really really special card for someone that it takes you even longer because it must be just so? That's how it was with this card. I just think the world of my sister in law and am absolutely thrilled for her and my brother. I am so excited to watch them become first time parents--I know they are going to be fantastic at it!

My first step was to go through all my pink patterned paper. Then the lightning bolt hit! The DCWV Nana's Nursery!! I love this paper. Sparkle and pink? Yes please! After much arranging and ink sampling here's what I finished with:

And I had to show a detail of the sparkly paper!

Even my critic gave her approval!
Thanks y'all for stopping by and come back tomorrow when I have a burning question involving a new scrap room I need the answer to!!

Glitter glitter everywhere!

I was making a card for The Pink Elephant challenge and in the process upended an entire container of Prisma glitter. I wear it for days when it's not airborne...can you imagine now??

The challenge was to use something with dots, a punch, and a tag. Little d thought this looked like a Christmas present. Thankfully, that's the look I was going for!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cards!

Here's a little craftiness for a change.

I made this because I was inspired by the red with pink polka dot paper to do a Christmas card. Does it look too much like a Coke label?

I never make Halloween cards because it's my least favorite holiday. {Well right up there with Valentine's.} But I stretched out of the box for The Pink Elephant sketch this week.

This last card is Christmas again. I love the vintage K&Company paper!!

Pink Elephant #29

What? Two challenges in one day? I must be goofing off instead of cleaning house! This card is for The Pink Elephant Challenge. This week their sponsor is The Little Paper Shop and I just happen to have one of their stamps. I bought it last spring because my plan was to do snow globe cards for Christmas. And the set includes a house to put in the snow globe and I really thought we would be sending cards from our new house..blah blah blah...here's the sketch:

And here's the card.

For your information if you use the heat gun on HP paper it will curl up. But I just hit it with heat a couple of seconds at a time and it never burned! So that's what the globe is made from and it had Liquid Applique and Prisma Glitter on it. And I just realized I was going to put google eyes on the penguin...may have to go back and do that later.

Details: all CTMH unless noted
Paper: HP photo paper, Aspen Level II, Desert Sand cs
Ink: Twilight (second generation), White Daisy, Black and Creme Brulee markers
Stamp: Global (Little Paper Shop)
Other: Liquid Applique, Prisma Glitter, glue pen, heat gun, DMC floss
