Bizarr-oh dreams!

Last night was a doozy. I think my dream lasted for seven hours. Ugh! It started with me in the military with a bunch of people from high school. And then all the sudden (while we were on a trip to an amusement park) I remembered that I would have to serve on a ship in a few months...since I had signed up for the Navy, you know?

I panicked and was asking my friend how I could get out of it. She said 'I don't think you can.' And then while I was panicking over that, I realized that I was living the wrong life because I had signed up for the military. I remembered my real life as it was supposed to be where I was married to D and had kids. And then all of the sudden in the crowds I saw D and I was heartbroken because I knew he wouldn't know me. Then another friend came up and held my hand. I asked him why he was holding my hand and he said 'God told me that you needed me to.'

And then I saw D with two little girls, who were obviously his, laughing and playing and with him. And I was more sad when I realized they were his kids with someone else. Then of course the dream morphed into something else where I was doing a zipline in the snowy mountains to a garage sale. Shhesh. I woke up exhausted and feeling down in the dumps and then I realized 'duh mere it's just a stupid dream.'

I guess the deal with pregnancy dreams isn't so much the plot, but it's how vivid and detailed they are and how well I remember them. Looking over it this one would make a kinda interesting book...I call dibs!

When I was little I used to have this reoccurring nightmare that I had rocks embedded in my skin and if I tried to pick them out they left these craters. Not a gory dream, just weird. And every single time I see a piece of jewelry that has stones embedded I always point it out to Mom and say...'you know what this reminds me of?' And she always says, 'rocks in the skin.'

Yeah we are weird, but I'm okay with that.

Okay so now you want to hear what you really came here for right? The ultrasound went very well today! I am 7 weeks 1 day! Yea! I got to hear the heartbeat...brings a tear every time. I go back in 6 weeks.

I need to post about how fun a transvaginal ultrasound is with the Ultrasound Nazi, but I'll save that for another day...

I had a dream...

And so it begins. I have this funny little pregnancy symptom that keeps my family entertained. Dreams. Weird, bizarre, vivid dreams.

With Little d I remember the first one I had. It was about the saltwater rabbit. What? Didn't you know there was a difference between saltwater rabbits and freshwater rabbits? I remember that in my dream the rabbit in the aquarium died because it was not a saltwater rabbit and it was in our saltwater tank. Ironically I had this dream before I even knew I was pregnant. It's ironic because the rabbit died. Get it? The rabbit died? That means you're pregnant, right? I couldn't make that up if I tried.

So this afternoon I took a nap. A luxurious two hour nap courtesy of my husband and kids. I slept so hard, and of course I had a bizarre dream. I was cutting up barbie dolls, with scissors, because Little d wanted to play with them in pieces. Now before you say my God woman, what do you let your child watch on TV? Let me explain. Little d has a very vivid imagination, and she loves to play with bits of paper and ribbon (that she cuts into small pieces). She makes them into characters and they act out stories. So it's really not a big stretch that she would want things in pieces, of course she would NOT want me to cut up barbies but you know how crazy dreams are...

or at least mine are.

{PS I just did spell check and it said No Misspellings Found--that never happens!}
