Raspberry Suite #17

Oh how I love this color challenge. Dawn has such a knack for picking colors. And I must say those papers in the picture were so yummy! I really want to make a Christmas card using these colors, but for now I decided on using my favorite K&Company papers...

I just paged through my stamps and when I saw the praying hands I knew it would be perfect for this card. One of my all time favorite CTMH sets!

And here's my card. I know I know...you were thinking it was going to be yet another Christmas card and I did think about it. But I wanted to play with my brand new stamps more!



Speaking of brand new stamps. Here's what I ordered. This is my first Inkadinkadoo purchase. I had to have those chandeliers. And while I was at it I needed the others too...

Okay the truth is my local Hobby Lobby doesn't stock Cuttlebug folders very well. They've had the same 8 since last year --HA! Anyway I really wanted that diamond plate one so I could make a really cool masculine card..uh I digress. I searched online for it and this site happened to have the three plates I wanted and the chandelier stamp. Kismet, right? It arrived today!

And I've been feeling a little crappy (queasy-which is good it means things are going well) in the afternoons and sleeping instead of scrapping, but today I am doing good so I broke out the mojo and made a card! Thanks for stopping by y'all!

Oh and a note about the stamps: I could not get them to take ink, it kept beading up. I finally remembered some hint about rubbing a pencil eraser on them and they finally worked!

Oh and also a sweet Little d story: She asked me today if that baby was already growing in my belly and I said yes. She said "awww, that's so sweet. I love that little baby."

Raspberry Suite #15 [a late grad card]

It's been a few weeks since I've played along with Dawn's challenge, but today I found time to use these yummy colors!



I really needed to make a graduation card. Since the recipient just moved into her college apartment! Hopefully she'll forgive me!

I think my all time favorite cardstock from CTMH is vanilla cream. Or maybe sorbet...who can decide? On this card I used the dot embossing folder, but I used adhered the cs dot-side down. I thought it gave it a little different look.

Color Much?

Well I think I need to get back in the swing of things, because this card was HARD. I wanted to play in the Raspberry Suite Challenge before it closed tonight and wowza. These colors were tough for me.

But then I saw the new ribbon in my drawer and thought--perfecto! Of course now looking at it, I'm not sure the pink in it qualifies as bright pink, but...moving on! Here's the card:

Raspberry Suite #10

When the page loaded on Dawn McVey's blog I actually gasped when I saw these colors and my husband said, "What is it?" I then had to embarrassingly explain that I really like the colors on this page. You should have seen his face. Although, God bless him, I don't think it shocked him at all that I would get excited over some colors. But I mean, come on, look at them:

So I once again had to find a melon/salmon color in my CTMH arsenal. Huh. We really need to get more colors in this family. So I opted to use first and second generation Sorbet. I hope it qualifies. I really wanted simple and elegant.

I absolutely love the look of a sentiment stamped over a light image. I just don't have that many verses that look good over an image. PS I am loving that Vanilla Cream cardstock!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge#9

This week's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge colors are lovely. They make me think of the beautiful pastoral toile I decorated the nursery in before Little d was born. Just don't ask me how I derived my card from that...

I picked out a stamp set that I've had for weeks and never even inked. For shame! I just couldn't think of a card to use it on, even though I had to have it...I know you all can relate to this particular anomaly us stampers have. {Must have, not sure where I will use it} I ended up with a card I thought would be appropriate for a graduate, especially one who is a drama student.

The little masks are popped up and bent for dimension. I also want to make a card with these colors using an old teapot set I have. Although who knows if I'll have the time...

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #8

Dawn of My Favorite Things posted yet another yummy challenge. Here's the colors...

I needed to make a Happy Birthday card for my Memaw and her favorite color is PINK! So I first thought of that when I saw the colors. I was looking through an old (OCT 09) issue of Scrapbooking Etc. that I had and I loved the layout on the cover. I mentally wondered how to adapt this layout to a card.

First I decided I needed to corral the girls into some semblance of a landscape-style portrait. Ha, easier said than done. I did get some cool shots though...

And I did finally get a picture of both of them. I converted it to sepia and here's the card I ended up with...

I've never done the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, but I couldn't pass this week's up--it's so cute.

And of course the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge was delicious as usual so I played along, combining the two...
Here's my card. I guess I fudged a little with the sketch. I didn't add the 'sentiment circle' but I just liked those rectangles so much I didn't want to cover them up. And I liked adding the sentiment at the bottom...

This challenge came right in time for my rush to make Mother's Day cards. My Memaw loves pink so I knew she would be the recipient for this one. And then D asked me to make a card for his great aunt who is like a grandmother to him. So to save time I made them identical.

I know technically I used colonial white instead of white, but CTMH's Perfect Day paper was...wait for it...Perfect! Okay I'm done. Later hopefully I can get that post about our adventures buying a camera done for your veiwing pleasure. Oh the things I will do to humiliate myself to keep you people entertained...

Not To Brag...

But for once I ROCKED OUT A COLOR CHALLENGE. Okay I only say that because of all the color challenges I have done, this is the only...ONLY...card I love. And the bow? My Gosh the bow!! I actually tied a perfect bow. You don't understand people, I can't tie a bow to save my life!! Enough, here's the challenge...

I completed this card while on the phone with my loony Mom. I can call her loony and get away with it because we are bestest friends AND because she is all hopped up on cold meds right now! Oh and also because it will make her laugh when she reads this.
