I just followed this advice to back up my blog...

I really would like to get it printed into a book, I should look into that.

Dallas Glitter!
Remember when I went to the Dallas game and did a silver glitter manicure. Well on a trip to the grocery store I recently found the PERFECT polish to wear the next time I get to go to a game!! It's a Sally Hansen polish called Showgirl Chic. I tried it out over a solid white polish (China Glaze White on White) and LOVED it. Here's a really poor picture of it.
Little d had it on her nails too. (without the white undercoat)
Uhg. What a rotten picture.

Just a tiny scrapbook project
It's been eons since I did anything scrapbook-y. But after tackling the scrapbook room clean up (I should totally post before and after pictures. Maybe another day.) I felt all creative. Supplies left on my desk (until the Great Scrapbook Room Re-Oganization Project gets underway) were a new punch from SU! and a stack of DCWV paper. So I did this.
I heart this paper so much. It's Nana's Nursery, Baby Girl by Die Cuts With a View. I just have the little stack, and I wonder if they still make it in 12x12. I should totally get the boy version for Little md's baby book. Which is of course not even started. In fact, Little m's is not started either. For shame. These will be my first projects to complete scrapbook wise!
Have a good one!
I just felt so creative doing such a simple little pennant banner. I am having a time looking for a good location to photograph scrap stuff. My room doesn't have a window so I moved it to the kitchen windowsill, but the day is overcast.
Have a good one!

Just for fun
Here's a list of my current media thingies.
On the DVR: Bethanny Ever After, Top Chef, any Real (ish) Housewife, Dance Moms. Yes I love trashy reality TV.
On the Kindle: re-reading The Hunger Games, finished The Host, about a million samples I need to read.
On the blog roll: anything to do with nail polish or crochet.
On the YouTube playlist: Brett Dennen (Comeback Kid), Reba, Kelly Clarkson, Regina Spektor (Fidelity), Adele (Someone Like You), Goyte (Someone that I Used to Know)
On the plate (as in what I'm snacking on right this second....) Twinkie and Doritos.
Ta-Dah!

Who knew October could be so busy?? (In February)
I guess that's a rhetorical question, but really. This month is ridulous.
D joined the local volunteer fire department.
Birthday parties, girl scouts, cookbook committee, PTO, fall festival, CCD.
D's old employer sold his unit to a new company. New pay, new insurance.
Both girls signed up for dance. Little m and Little md have colds.
(Originally written in October--I'm cleaning out my drafts folder...)

Cirque de Symphonie
Or some such spelling.
Little d and I went last night to the new Fine Arts Center and watched the acrobats perform while the orchestra played. It was amazing! It was like (what I imagine) Cirque de Soleil does. Very impressive. I wish we could have taken pictures. I especially loved the look on Little d's face as it lit up with all the feats. She practically was squealing! Of course the numbers in between the acrobats wore thin for her during the second act, she behaved so well though.
(This draft was saved in my posts so I decided to go ahead with it for the sake of remembering it later--originally written in September)

Must be just me....
I doubt anyone remembers the last time I went to the gynocologist and forgot my socks in my purse. And that brief argument I had with myself about whether or not to jump off the table and risk bending over in my paper 'dress' to retrieve them before the doc entered the room. Ah well. It was a funny post. I tried to find it, but it was taking too long. Anyway. Today I had to make that pilgrimage again.
My doc has changed nurses, and flipped over to the other side of the facility so I was all disoriented, plus for the first time in MANY years I was not there for anything to do with pregnancy. I mean usually when I go in for my yearly it's to say...we're thinking about trying again. But this time no. So anyway, the appointment was running late so I texted my mom (who was watching the three incubators of germs) that it seemed like I was going to be there for a while.
I proceeded to get called back within minutes. I changed into my paper attire (the vest has buttons now! uptown!) and sat to wait. Of course that's when mom texted me back. My phone was paces away in my jeans. I figured it was her. (She has this fun habit of having to get the last word in with texting. It's not even intentional.) Anyway. I ended up waiting another 45 minutes for the doc to come in, so I had pleeeenty of time to get my phone, but I didn't of course. But I sat there (sweating in the freezing room) remembering the blog post about the socks and trying not to laugh out loud.
In typing this post I noticed that my pasts post have the worst titles for trying to find what the post was about. Boo for me.

Unexpected heart
In a do-nut!
I've been experimenting with nail polish lately. I've found some really cute ones at Walgreens. You may remember I've had several occasions to shop there recently. In fact today we'll be picking up another script for the pink eye for Little m. Freakin lovely. Oh yes....nails.
I think it's so fun to find hearts in stuff. It's such an odd shape that you don't see it too often. I always try to take a picture when I see one.
The other day I happened into the living room and saw Little m and Poppy hanging out watching Disney channel....

It's a very deep purple with a holographic flake over the top and then a clear top coat. I guess I should list the polishes....let me go find them. Okay two coats of Wet n Wild Disturbia, one coat Finger Paints Flashy and one coat Seche Vita top coat.
There's another shot. It is incredibly hard to get focused closeups of your own fingernails! Maybe if you enlarge the photos you can see the flake detail. It's really cool.... (and please disregard the dry scaly hands)

35 Years Young
My hubby, today.
I randomly smile just thinking about him. I wonder if he knows that. Oh sure there are times when he annoys the hell out of me. But for the most part I can't get enough of him.
I'm sure he thinks I spend all day obsessing about the kids or Pinterest. But sometimes when they are engrossed in Disney and I take a minute to look out the window I picture his dimples, or smile, or the way his eyes twinkle and I get a big old goofy grin on my face. Good thing I'm looking out into a pasture. And don't tell him this, but I still can't figure out what he sees in me.
I mean the only way he could possibly be more appealing to me is if I never had to take a bag of trash outside again....hint hint.....
This year for his birthday he got that thing he's been wanting for a while. You know...that thing that all guys seem obsessed with and most girls are not. I finally caved and gave in....
A flat screen TV. Wait...what did you think I was talking about??
Okay. I'm off for now.

I give up
For some reason, Little d is running fever. Don't know why.
On the up side I cleaned up the office/scrapbook room today. Not organized yet, but clean.

Be gone February....
I'm done with you.
Last Friday I had the stomach bug. Friday night Little d started with it. She and I holed up in my bedroom so as not to infect the rest of the household and praise be to God everyone else stayed free of it. Sunday she woke with a snotty nose, but able to eat food again.
Monday I kept her home from school to recover her strength, and got what I needed to for the Valentine party. Tuesday--happy valentines--she woke up with pink eye. We of course stayed home from school and visited the doc. Drops, and a note to return to school on Thursday.
Wednesday Little m started with a snotty nose, and so did Little md. After bedtime he woke with horrid coughing and came very close to a trip to the ER. But a call to the afterhours nurse and two breathing treatments later, and we both caught a FULL two hours of sleep for the night.
We took him to the doc today where he was cleared of any infections, but got to scripts for Nasonex and Singulair.
Sigh.
Where's a good locust shitstorm when you need it?
In other news: I am currently pinning many, many crochet things. Speaking of....I wonder if I can link my Pinterest page here?? Let's give a go. Try THIS link.
I ordered three bottles of glittery nail polish from etsy. Check it...HERE.
D ordered some fish to stock our pond.
So tired....wish I was signing off to go to bed, but Little md is WIDE awake.

Little e is here
And she's beautiful! My brother and his wife had their second child today and she's sweet and precious and just all the good things a new baby should be. Healthy, warm with just the perfect scent. Hair to put us all to shame. And tiny perfect toes with even tinier little purple pink nails.
Eyes shut.
Mouth in perfect pout.
Furry little newborn ears.
Tiny sighs.
Squeaky yawns.
Curled up legs.
Makes you want another one, doesn't it??
I think I'll stick to sniffing around on this one. :)
Much love to you baby E. More than you could ever imagine.

Pantry Before and After
So today I thought I would tackle the pantry. It was either that or not put away any groceries from yesterday...easy choice, right? I periodically do the pantry over, so it wasn't a huge undertaking. At least I didn't think it was that bad, but maybe you'll look at the before picture and scream in horror.
Here's the before. Notice it's starting to creep out of its boundaries....always a sign it's time to re-do.
I started at the top and worked down one side. Then across the bottom and back up to the cereal/snack/cracker fiasco....
Here's the final result.
I don't have any cutesy, fancy storage containers. I use old sturdy cardboard boxes to hold small stuff. And I'm okay with that. :)

ET Phone Home
We have a closet in our hall that is supposed to be a coat closet. Currently it hold a few clothing items, and is about halfway stacked with all the kids' stuffed animals. Much like the closet in ET.
A few days ago I walked by and saw this.....
Cute, right?
