Just hanging out on my laptop and looked at my bookmarks bar. I thought --huh--haven't checked into mere's lair in a while....
And it was exactly one year ago today that I typed in a post about those parakeets. Of which we now have one. The others having found a loving home. I think I just did two back to back fragments.
I'm sad I didn't document this last year here. I have a middle schooler, and a kinder graduate. I have a pool in the backyard and a friend getting a divorce. I have not lost a single pound. In fact..the opposite. I have a beautiful new eternity wedding band and a husband with a beard lol. (Same guy, new look) I had a great time attending a bible study class and a busy time on the PTO board.
I'm trying to think of all the highlights of the last year. Overwhelmingly I'm proud of my children.
My little boy started kinder and did so wonderfully. I watched him show compassion and have fun. He learned so much! And he is so smart! He graduated speech and learned to read. His math skills are amazing. And he started piano lessons.
Little m had a solid year in second. She did great with her first year in GT. Worked hard on her TPSP project and leaned to focus and complete work in time. She earned the marvelous mustang award for her class and straight A's. All the while doing her favorite thing--dance!
My little d. So silly a name since she's nearly 12. What an inspiration she is. She is just the neatest person to be around. So full of life and humor. And she is so happy to finally have her phone!! She also did great this year academically--earning the top three award!! She is continuing with her piano but her passion is drawing.
D and I have had a wonderful year too. I'm ever so thankful to have such a wonderful man to spend my life with.
I have GOT to keep up with this blogging!

Summer's Wrapping Up
I can't believe that we are already in August. School is about two weeks away. This weekend is our last in POC. I'm so sad that school is starting soon. I miss the kids so much when I'm away from them and this year ALL three are in school.
Yep. My baby is going to kindergarten. I can't tell you how much trauma this is causing me. At least not right now. I'll start crying.
All three completed a two week swim lesson course. Little d did great!! Little m did pretty well and is continuing to improve!! Little md did well at first and then started hating it. He did sit in the water on the last day so.... But now he is trying again here in mimi and pawpaw's pool.
I went school clothes shopping with little d. She ended up sick that night possibly a motion sickness, headache, greasy food thing. Not sure. But she recovered. I'm still a little shaky. Summers are not for throwing up. We are supposed to coast through summer without any illnesses. Sigh.
As an official officer of the PTO (ahem. Volunteer Coordinator is a real thing.) I had to man the table at registration for a couple of hours. I have to say I actually enjoyed meeting some new people there. I think it's going to be fun to be part of the PTO.
Speaking of registration, the kids are. Registered. And I am thinking of having a address, a phone number, and a name stamp made. Filling out my info thirty times gets a bit excessive. If only there was a way for the school to run your stuff through a magic machine that could spit out multiple copies to file in different folders without you having to write it multiple times.....
Over the summer we all got a little more tan (despite copious amounts of sunblock). Our hair is a little drier. And our feet are a little rougher.
PUBLISHING this unfinished a year later lol

Baby birds!!
Times five. Two or three were hatched when we arrived back home and now all five are here. the oldest three have feathers on their wings and are getting large. The smallest one looks so tiny beside them.
Today I may get brave enough to take the older ones out!! We'll see.
Cleaning and organizing is going well. I feel much calmer since two kids rooms and the kitchen are done. Today little d wants to work on her room.
Also wanted to note that for what ever reason on the day we came back little m woke up. Ate a few bites of breakfast, drank most of her hot chocolate and then threw up. Once more later and then within minutes was eating and drinking all the rest of the day. Literally can't figure it out! All are fine though.
Dentist checkup went well with no cavities. Little d had two teeth pulled Monday. And in a month Little m will have to have two pulled then two more. To make room and to help teeth drift into place. She's missing four permanent teeth.
Little md will have his first check up in September for his teeth. Hoping that goes well. :)
Walked today on the treadmill for the first time since breaking my little toe! And it didn't hurt much. Yeah!! Need to start working out so that's awesome!

Broke muh toe. Again.
Yes same one.
Yes hurt like a little bitch.
Yes it derailed my whole treadmill walking.
Fatty mcfatty pants here I come.
In a day or two we'll be heading back home to the big city. I still have tons of organizing to do at home and the kids have some midsummer appts. Dentist, hair, speech.
When last we left, the parakeets had five eggs. Curious to see if there are any hatchlings....

Judge much?
Look I try not to judge other people too much. I mean I'm just kidding I have a running commentary in my head all day about people. Especially if I'm scrolling through FB. But yesterday. Yesterday I got REALLY judgy.
About moms who makes those cutesy lunches for their school kids. (If you don't know what I'm talking about google easylunchboxes.)
Shudder. Fruit shaped like hearts. Hummus? 11 baby carrots? What kid on the planet eats rolled up tortilla sandwiches PLUS heart shaped cheese PLUS blueberries and strawberries PLUS ELEVEN BABY CARROTS.
If you are trying to make a lunch look like something to post on a blog then you have big problems. And also--TOO much time on your hands.
And the kids that are getting these lunches? What do you think happens when they see a friend with a regular ole pb&j with a side of nacho doritos and two oreos? Well. I guess it makes me a bad mom but I think this whole easylunchbox trend is RE DICK U LUS. And yes I know that's not how you spell it.
Maybe my kids are the weird ones. I mean one daughter eats salami. Another eats cereal. But hey we all have bigger things to talk about.
Like how pleased I am that the White House is using my tax dollars and some rainbow lights to show how wonderful God's Promise was to never flood the earth again.
Smile. Especially in light of all the rain we were getting for a while there....

POC finally!
Just in time for this....
Swimming in a toilet. Yes. Swimming in the gulf is apparently this wonderfully safe. AND I saw this after we spent the morning at the beach.
Lovely.
Moving on. The trailer is on it's way to being organized. I am on my way to gaining another ten pounds iffin I don't stop eating and sleeping during the day. So this morning I walked on my dad's treadmill. And I am not at this very moment stuffing my face with tiny Mr. Goodbars. Two pluses right there.
Tomorrow I may be going back home to work on cleaning and organizing that house. Gah the amount to do is ginormous.
Little md defeated Plants v Zombies and Knack this weekend. Look we all have our goals.
Little d had a thyroid blood workup and ultrasound related to the swollen glands (which I knew all along was the freaking sore throat) and all turned out fine.
I went to the doc and got a script for a new allergy med and it is working in conjunction with the others so blessed be I am feeling normal again!!
I am watching them play Candyland as I type. None of them look particularly infected--so perhaps we avoided the toilet water. Thank you baby Jesus!
Off to find something crafty to do. Copic markers anyone?

Upty datey
School is FINALLY OUT!
The girls were awarded lots of academic awards and looked beautiful in their dresses and sandals. :)
I heart summer. And as soon as my allergies/head cold abates and little d's sore throat-that-she's-already-finished-meds-for goes away I think we will ditch this town for POC.
Well that's not going to happen actually because this weekend D and I have to attend a wedding in Kelp TX. No that's not the real name but I've never actually heard of the town and it's like three hours away and we have to stay in a hotel on his ONE weekend off in AGES without the kids so I could give a f(lip) about trying to commit the real name to memory. So I sub something close.
Who has a wedding where all the guests have to travel THAT far, stay in hotels, etc.? And it's not even like your hometown. Gah! I didn't even go to my own cousin's wedding in Austin because of the trip.
I don't even have something to wear.
Blech.
Two good bits of news. I got a new treadmill (it's not set up but still.) And the copic markers FINALLY came in!!!

Tooth Fairy
This story is too cute. I really wanted to post to FB but who knows if a kid might see it. lol
Last night (after a night of the 'tooth fairy' forgetting to pay for a tooth--let's be honest the tooth fairy exhaustedly fell asleep on the couch whilst little d was still trying to fall asleep) little m dutifully placed her tooth on her nightstand/chair. When I went to tuck her in she laughed and said "Mom are you really the one who comes in here at night and takes the tooth and puts money in my room?" I laughed back and said sarcastically "yea yes that's me alright!"
We had a little laughing back and forth and finally the TRUTH came out. She seemed fine with it. Really. She did. Aaaaaand then she didn't. But she did finally overcome her sadness and go to sleep.
At which time I again forgot to get the money.
Fortunately little md woke up hungry at 4am. And THEN I remembered. (And perhaps all to gloriously woke up David to find the correct dollar amount in his wallet.)
I also penned a note saying that I was sorry she was sad about the tooth fairy but of ALL the tooth fairies in the whole world this tooth fairy loved her the most!
She loved the note this morning. It brought smiles not tears. Then she hit me with this gem:
"All this time I thought I was bringing in money for our family, but it's just our money..."
I told her not to worry. I don't expect her to bring money in until she's at least eighteen. lol

It's my blog and I'll post what I want.
Or something like that.
I really want to GO OFF on fb but I won't. Hey that's what I have a blog for. So I live in tx and a few days ago a lunatic attempted to do a mass murder at an anti-muslim rally thingy. But this is tx duh and he got shot first.
So a few of my friends on fb are pretty much acting like they got what they deserved. Well. I feel like these very same people would be outraged if someone said 'well she was wearing a short shirt and got raped....she got what she deserved...."
Hypocrits make me want to vent. Big time.
You know what else makes me want to vent? Pink eye. Like what little m has in both eyes this morning. F U germs.

Seriously. How many days left until summer?
Little m threw up yesterday morning. Kept her home today.
She seems fine now. Maybe drainage?
I am already mentally organizing the great summer clean up. Rooms, drawers, closets. All of it, everything.
Dad is having injections in his eyes today. And tomorrow. First week that they have doubled up because of a scheduling conflict. Mom is having her teeth adjusted/checked. It's been rough for her.
Also thinking about getting a new treadmill. I am so out of shape. And truly need to lose 30 pounds. Can't stand it. And I think exercise is the only way for me. Gotta start somewhere.
Went shopping after piano lessons with little d for her recital dress. So fun. We never shop together--well hardly ever. I do most stuff online. But this was a neat outing. Even if it was Saturday at the mall. haha
Oops should go wake up little man. It's almost nine!

Appointments for all the eyes!
The last two weeks have been busy. How is that different that any other previous two weeks?
Last thursday little m got a clean bill of eye health at her first ever eye appt. She did well with the dilation also.
We went to POC on friday after school. I surprised the kiddos with the trip to celebrate little md's fifth birthday and little d completing her starr testing. It was a good trip. Mostly. Little m started feeling sick on the way down--maybe carsickness?? and then again Sat morning but then was fine. It was weird.
Tues little d had eye appt. Also all good.
Today little md goes in. Hoping he does well with the drops and all. He seems to be in a good mood about it. fingers crossed.
In other news. On monday night little d landed with her knee on little m's hand/finger. Yes it broke the index on her right hand. Good news is she just has to tape them together. We go back in two weeks for another xray.
D has been working a shut down of nights for freakin ever. I think it will end tues nite. will be nice to have him back home!! Three weeks is a looooong time of him working nights.
I've also been picking dewberries. First time in years. Well five years to be exact.
Did I mention my baby is five years old? FIVE
23 more days of school.....

Picnic weather
We have had a week of on again off again thunderstorms. But good news we never lost power and we don't have any storm damage.
Today the littles are actually getting to play on the back porch. m and md having a picnic out there right now.
Off to piano lesson in a bit for little d. And I still need to shower. errr.
I am finding it a stuggle to think of things to cook for dinner. Little m has a very limited palate, Well truth be told they are all picky. I believe little m would eat tacos every night.
I think tonight will be pork chops. The skinny, boneless kind. They all seem to eat those. Weeeelllll now that I've said that.....
Ok seriously off to take a shower!

33 Days of School left
I've found an easy way to title my posts. :P
Today on the way home from speech little md squealed with delight when I showed him some baby cows. Love the sheer joy that you can see through a child's eyes.
I've made eye appt for all three and an orthodontist appt for little d. Still waiting to see when she'll need braces.
It's raining and pouring outside....just minutes from pickup time. As usual. Never before or after.
Kind of been on a book buying binge of late. For the kiddos. I can think of worse things than that.
Had the most fun talk with the receptionist at speech today. I think we are each other's therapists. haha. She says nothing goes beyond these walls. ;)
Went to the school district's volunteers appreciation lunch. Or whatever it's called. Fun to visit with Knee. But at the same time, missed sitting with my home campus peeps.
In case you can't tell. This blog has basically turned into my cataloging my days. I'm just trying to get back into it. And just keep documenting.
Feeling much better from the sniffles. In fact actually was better the past two days.
Almost Friday!!!!

37 days of school left
As excited as I am about summer getting here I am a little nervous. I know summer will fly by and then I'll be sending all THREE of them back. :(
And I like both of the girls' teachers this year. A lot.
Today we had a good morning. Which translated means everyone got up fairly easily, ate well, and finished getting ready early enough for us to make it to school in plenty of time.
Today is normally dance day for little m, but with my head cold and her just getting over it (well mostly) I'm not sure we are going. She'll be upset because she already missed last week when little d was sick.
Almost tax day. We already paid ours. But still, makes me madder than mad.
Gosh I'm tired. I didn't sleep well last night. I guess from the snots. At least the kiddos slept well.
Have I mentioned how noisy these parakeets are??

Day in day out
I woke up with a sore throat. Not trip-to-the-clinic-sore. But enough to not just be dry-in-the-morning-goes-away-after-breakfast.
Still working through the laundry. Moms don't get days off. Duh.
About to start a full five day week. Hoping against hope this is just allergies. Sniff, sniff.
I think I saw the sun this morning.
Easter weekend (just prior to little d getting sick) we cleaned off the back porch and took down the above ground pool. Now it's more peaceful to look out the back windows. I was hoping that we could do a little planting in the planters. haha.
can you tell me how to get...how to get to sesame street....
