Big sigh that the weekend is over. Of course since I've become the golden daughter in law, things are much easier on me. That and the fact that I'm carrying another grandchild.
We somehow came home with way more gifts than we took, the girls had a good time for the most part. Little d had more fun than Little m. Little m doesn't really get loud boisterous crowds of people she doesn't yet know, so it was Sunday evening before she came out of her shell and acted like herself around her Nana and Opa. They rarely get to see that side of her, so I was happy about that.
I was pretty peaceful the whole weekend. I prayed the entire trip over there. I prayed for my daughters, my husband, myself. I prayed for family and friends. I prayed for all kinds of things. And I think it helped. I find when I'm in the car driving or somewhere quiet and I'm antsy or bored I think, 'mere, you have this whole time to pray, why don't you use your time wisely.'
There were some things that occurred with my oldest niece that have me a little concerned. I don't exactly know what to think about it yet or what to attribute it too (meaning the divorce or not). I've talked to my husband about it, and my BFF who works as an aid in public school and deals with all kinds of kids and situations. I won't blog about it, but I ask that you just keep her and her family in your prayers if you're inclined to do so.
To sum things up, I am so glad to be home again. My biggest gripe is people who take their clearly miserable sick kids out in public. A) the child is not having fun. B) we don't want our kids to get it. AND C) pamper your ill child and don't act like he needs to quit whining and suck it up...he's not even TWO years old for crap's sake! Ok, enough.
Home again, home again....and so glad!

Welcome home Golden Girl!
I am so glad you and the little 'alphabet' family are doing well :0)
Get hubby to do the laundry.
Prayer is an awesome thing.
Glad you survived the in-laws and even enjoyed it. I'm with you I have some of my best alone time with the Lord in the car.
